Motorcycle gear shop Route 66 North has a grand opening July 9 at their new storefront  at 717 Bedford Hwy (converted Esquire Motel) though they are working to open their doors before that

Sarah Andrews who you may know from Sattva Boutique on Agricola is opening Another Shop in Queens Marque on Lower Water this  week “Another Shop will focus on sustainable fashion with a contemporary touch, guided by a unique brand philosophy that defines each item sold.”

The new building being built on the waterfront, Cunard is going to have a new Asian-fusion restaurant from the folks at Sea Smoke simply called ASIA. The Cunard is also going to be home to a new restaurant from the Bertossi Group

I don’t know the name but there is a Nigerian Restaurant opening on the corner of Titus and Supreme Court in Fairview, in the newest building of The Boss Plaza


Speaking of The Boss Plaza in Fairview Brothers Indian Grocery Store (Bigs) now has a takeout inside it called Punjab Flavors

Open in Hubbards between the Post Office and Library is Scotia Cycle which describes itself as  We’re a bike shop that also sells Java Blend Coffee and delicious homemade baked goods by Hubbards Lions Club 

Le Rouge “Bold Grill & Cocktails” is now open in the base of the Halifax Tower Hotel in Bayers Lake

The roller skating rink, Upshaw’s Rollerdome is now open under the No Frills on Dentith Road in Spryfield

The new Subway on Argyle Street is open where Biscuit used to be (now on Gottingen) and sharing the space is Argyle Station Cafe which serves coffee, smoothies, pizza and baked goods 

Ragazzi Resto Bar is now open on the corner of Salter and Barrington with an Italian menu (pictured)


The Subway on the corner of Robie Street and Spring Garden Road is moving to the corner of Robie and Spring Garden, across the street where Starbucks used to be in the professional centre. Expect to hear more of moves from that block as a redevelopment approaches.

Xaymaca on Waverley Road is now partially open, they may not be serving eats from the Caribbean yet, that’s a few weeks away still. The ice cream stand is open


Asian Fire Wok Express on Young Street in Monaghan Square, has closed.
