Ice Cream? Yes please, the delicious Tatamagouche Ice Creamery is coming to town. A location at Alderney Landing and a mobile cart that can go around but plans to often be in the parking lot of the new Local Source at Windsor and Almon.

This won’t be the last I talk of small-batch ice cream while I investigate a few more I have heard are coming.

Halifax Shopping Centre this week confirmed the arrival of Quebec based clothing and linens department store Simons.
They will be occupying around 100,000  sq. ft of the former Sears. that area will also add a sit-down restaurant and a new mall entrance in a $52M renovation.

Opens

Ampersand Cafe has opened as the cafes in the Halifax Central Library, main lobby and top floor.It is run MetroWorks which will use the venture to help folks develop skills to launch or relaunch career paths.

The Papa John’s on Portland St.(near Superstore) soft opened yesterday.

Cable Wharf Kitchen & Patio opens today replacing Murphy’s on the Waterfront. At, you guessed right, Cable Wharf by the Ferry.

GIGS (Gloria’s International Grocery Store) opened across from Tim’s at 200 Portland St. Specializing in Caribbean and African items

Closed

The Source was on a closing spree last week I mentioned Lower Sackville closing, but Scotia Square, New Minas, Greenwood and New Glasgow have also shuttered their doors.

Lower Sackville icon Disco Deli has closed after 40 plus years.
