I hear a food hall is going in the redevelopment of Sackville/South Park called “City Kitchen” It will focus on kiosk versions of quality local restaurants and new spots versus chains, expect late summer/fall 2019

Coffee Matters is adding a third location, they opened earlier this year in the Brewery Market (that is a beautiful space) and they already have a forthcoming location on the corner of Alderney and Octerloney and now next month will open in Gladstone North (Gladstone at Almon)

Cafe Lara, will be opening later this summer  in the longtime empty former laundromat on the corner of Agricola and Woodill near the Common


Downtown Dartmouth got a bit boozier this week, the folks from New Scotland Clothing have opened New Scotland Brewing on Alderney (near Portland) and Lake City Cider on Portland also opened this week. Brightwood Brewing will be opening beside Lake city in a few more weeks

The former Smiling Goat baristas are now in charge, Glitter Bean Cafe is now open on the Spring Garden at Carlton.

The Tartan Tea House opened today on Bedford Highway, offering proper English Tea Service.

A few doors over, a formal clothing boutique for children called Baby Chic also opened on the Bedford Highway

This is sad, longtime Agricola shop Geddes Furniture is closing. The final sale next Friday and Saturday. They always had such beautiful stuff.

Tattletales Books (a long time tenant of Penhorn) is on the move, they closed their shop yesterday and will reopen next month at Woodlawn Plaza on the second floor above where the New Penny was, there is an elevator right there.


Salvatore’s in the Hydrostone this week introduced a Moon Mist cheesecake (yes it tastes like Moon Mist) and it has been in high demand
