The new development (The Doyle) across from Halifax Central Library, I have heard they have scooped UK retailer OASIS from Halifax Shopping Centre. Ther will be a top floor 360° all glass restaurant and now I hear it will be home to a new larger Lululemon.

Booster Juice will be replacing the recently closed Sunwich Cafe, amongst the clothing stores in Dartmouth Crossing.

Cha Baa Thai is coming to North End Halifax; they will be opening in Point North, the new building across the Demone St for the Lion’s Head

CheeseCurds has opened their latest location in Clayton Park on Lacewood where FlipBurger was, the Habanero’s counter  won’t be open until next month

PizzaTown opens the first of their new concept of restaurants, this one is a few doors down from their current on  Cobequid Rd. They are adding TV’s and beer and such and more seating.

Bedazzled in Sunnyside Mall closes at the End of April

Reitmans announced it will be closing all it’s Hyba stores over the next 11 months but will continue to carry the brand in their main stores. The only local Hyba store is in Scotia Square

Halifax ReTales Closed

Another week another Pannizza closes, last week the Halifax Shopping Centre location closed and this week its sister location in Scotia Square did the same.

The Canadiana in Bayers Lake is now done, supposedly when It is all done there will be a different restaurant on top of this

This week a shout out to Kitchen Door Catering who every Wednesday night have a Facebook Live where they bring local guests in for a cooking show called Chit Chat Chop and they talk about what they do as they prepare a dish (they are all available to watch afterwards as well)  It’s really great to see locals talking locals and working together

The Rec Room announced that they are opening in St. John’s in the Avalon Mall. The Cineplex owned entertainment centre, and restaurant (arcade, entertainment, pool tables, watch the big game)  I believe will also announce a 30k sqft facility to be built in Dartmouth Crossing

Edmonton Location

It was 20 years ago that Wormwood’s Dog An Monkey Cinema closed, and Halifax could still use a replacement full-time independent movie theatre.

This is interesting; I hear starting today both our Costco‘s are using Nova Scotia’s own Eden Valley for their fresh chicken supply! And Eden Valley will be their primary supplier for all the Atlantic Canadian stores in the coming months.
