A second Millstone Public House will be opening in Bedford’s Sante Centre (across from BMO Centre). The first one on Baker Dr in Dartmouth opened in February ’16

Hoghorn BBQDartmouth Icon ‘Hub Too’ which has had a few names, now has new owners and new vision East Coast Hub Saloon and Hoghorn BBQ. A little sprucing up of the kitchen and Dartmouth is going to have Southern BBQ joint in about two weeks!

This opened a while ago, but I missed it, behind the Dartmouth General on Mt. Hope is Benji’s Bargains, liquidation style hardware, toys, cosmetics, clothing and linens and on the right,  a restaurant equipment store.

The former Hamachi House on Morris St is well under renovations (and the moat is gone) the new restaurant going in is Buta Ramen. While around the corner the old Gingergrass will become a Vietnamese restaurant.

In exciting news for the veggie lovers, Quinpool institution Heartwood Restaurant will be opening a second full location in St Joesph Square the new development on Gottingen right by the Hydrostones. The original Heartwood opened over 20 years ago, and for the last two summers, they have operated a shack on the Halifax Waterfront.

A new food truck rolled out this week, Mr Bern’s BBQ on the Run, a Filipino BBQ truck that has setup on the land across from Barrington St Superstore )(what used to be the South End Diner)

Chico’s Island will be bringing Caribbean food to Dartmouth when it opens in a couple of weeks at 95 Caledonia

There is a convenience store open at the bottom of Gaston Rd. again

Sidecar Goods are coming to King’s Wharf above Just Us  & beside Grund Goldsmith. An artisan variety/gift shop, specializing in Cocktail and Cooking itemsr The Dartmouth Makers shows. Cocktail Bar The Watch that Ends the Night will also be opening this autumn in the same area

A new toys and collectibles shop called Third Earth Collectibles is opening on Cornwallis St in the same space as Octopi Computers

Gottingen St’s live venue bar The Company House is closing on September 5th

Legends at the Airport is closing in February and will be replaced by a new bar down by gate 14. Once Legends closes that space will be renovated and a new pub that is part of the Firkin chain of pubs will open next summer.

Back in November, I mentioned St. Louis Bar and Grill would be one of the new builds at Downsview, well they confirmed this week with a “Fall” opening.
