Sushi Jet opening a location on Portland Street at Penhorn, between Pur & Simple and Wok Your Way. Sushi Jet already has locations that are all a little bit different in Downtown Halifax, West Bedford and Fairview.

Restaurant chain Milestones and gym Orange Theory are opening in the space that used to occupy the NSLC, below Decathlon at the Big Mall in Dartmouth. The Milestones won’t be ready until next spring.

Indo-Urban Junction at the bottom of Wright Avenue in Burnside has closed but Aly’s Kitchen has opened serving a very similar menu of Mumbai street food.

The long-standing COWS Ice Cream at the North End of the Waterfront is ice cream only. The merchandise and the cow have moved to Cable Wharf. Next year the original location will not reopen and the ice cream will move to Cable Wharf as well.
You can also find Cows ice cream a few hundred metres south at the Saly Yard.

The Quiznos in Bayers Lake will be returning, they had a roof leak and it had got in the walls and got mouldy which means the walls had to be taken down, and it’s just been wrapped up in insurance.

The Pizza Delight in Bayers Lake is open again. So once again HRM has a Pizza Delight


Empire has bought into the Scene+ loyalty program and as a result, their brands like Sobeys & Lawtons will be dropping AirMiles and switching to Scene+ later this year.
