Today marks the 10th anniversary of one of the darkest and almost the last day of my life. The overwhelming burden of living a lie and hiding my struggles with mental health almost came to a head I could no longer push it down. At the last second, I made a choice to continue and I am glad I did. Halifax ReTales is a by-product of my journey to better mental health so thanks to you for being part of it. I am better but I am not cured I have accepted it is part of me but I don’t accept it as a weakness it’s just something that I need to manage, and 2021 so far has been harder than usual but I know that I have people I can lean on and accept me for who I am without stigma. I am happy to be here!

It’s been a pretty great 10 years!
