Peppereka has their signage up at Wright and Burnside. It seems to be a quick serve style restaurant but so far all I know is vague words like “convenient” and “fresh” 

The Dome complex is opening a new brand in the former Taboo Nightclub. “Hide + Seek” and aiming for 25+ crowd and will be a lounge by evening and transform to bottle service nightclub late night on weekends.

In the coming weeks Propeller will be opening their new arcade room at their Gottingen Street HQ.

It sounds like something called “Halifax Beer & Wine Garden” is looking to setup on the corner of Bayers and Oxford beside Look Ho Ho for this summer!

Mabata “Global Cuisine” is opening on Bedford Highway at Larry Uteck where Cafe l’Acadie was.

Cole Harbour may have lost Jamaica Vibes to Spring Garden Road, but it is quickly being replaced by another Jamaican restaurant called Irie Vibes on February 1.

The signs are gone from the two the 2 downtown Halifax Delta hotels, they are now running as independents and are called the Hotel Halifax and Hotel Barrington.

The Ultimate Party & Rental Store has completed their short move from 592 to the much larger 614 Sackville Dr a few doors away.

HaliKids is closing their South Park store in 10 days, but will reopen a few weeks later as a 2nd location of their sister store Twiggz.

The Starbucks inside Chapters Halifax is just getting a complete makeover and will be back for Valentines.

A longtime Halifax name seems to be done. Ryan Duffy’s “closed for renovations” early in the new year. But I have had reports of equipment coming out and no renos appear to be happening 
and earlier this week the FB page disappeared and the phone number is now disconnected.

Gymboree has filed for bankruptcy protection and has announced it will be closing all Canadian stores.

Fiddleheads Kids Shop is closing their Dartmouth location on Prince Albert and have a clearance sale, but don’t worry the Larry Uteck store will remain open.

The final Manhattan Pizza on South Park St has closed its doors. They have sold the location to Quinpool’s Korean favourite Bi One (unsure if this is a move or location 2 for Bi One)
