Dinah’s Sourdough in North End Halifax has closed (but I hear something else is opening there soon)
From Saltwire
My feature piece this week in The Chronicle Herald is on artist Jan Davison who paints the streetscape of the shop and eateries we love.

Saj House used to be my favourite Lebanese restaurant anywhere. And I mean anywhere. Great food, wonderfully diverse menu, and good prices. It was my go-to place with guests from out of the province and they would marvel at the quality of the food at a small place in Fairview. Then the old guy who ran/owned it passed away, his family took it over, the menu changed and the food just didn’t have the magic it did when the original owner/cook/chef ran it. And the service declined. I stopped going as often, and then it changed hands and the last couple of times I went it was pretty poor. I mean, “out of falafel”. Seriously? In the middle of the afternoon? Make more. Geez. And I never saw other customers there when I went in…it was always empty. It’s a pretty sure thing that I won’t bother trying out the new Bedford location.

I can’t believe that the Ostrich Club in the Hydrostone Market is not on any list. It is a hidden gem for wine , menu and service. .
