The return of HogHorn BBQ!! Well, it won't be called HogHorn, but the Parkside Pub & Smokehouse in Highfield is getting a makeover (still open). And this monster is being installed. All the tastes of HogHorn (and adding poultry) plus bar favourites look for the relaunch in a few weeks

The 250 room Sandman Hotel was officially confirmed yesterday to be built on Wilkinson Dr (by the new Shell/Tims/A&W) in Burnside on the edge of Dartmouth Crossing expected to be finished in the first half of 2019 this will also mean the arrival of Denny's

RUMOUR (not 100%) but I have three angles that say Five Guys is coming to Dartmouth Crossing this year. However, I don't have any of the solid confirmation that I usually like to say it's a for sure.

Shanxi Paomo Chinese opened on Quinpool in December where Modern Shanghai was.

bird's nest cafe is now open on Barrington near Blowers, bird's nest replaces Ciboulette who was next door for the last ten years. Same owner and menu favourites.

Fish & Chix opens today in Burnside in place of Truckside on Windmill

It's always kind of looked like it was about to close and now it is.
Designer Depot in the Mic Mac Mall parking closed yesterday. This closure adds credence to the RUMOUR that a Fit 4 Less was going to start construction there this spring.

What's making me happy this week is the upcoming season of MasterChef Canada. 3 of the 21 Finalists are from HRM!
Also, there is a contestant from Kentville, and two other constants are born in Nova Scotia one from Glace Bay (Calgary) and one from Yarmouth (Saint John)

The Coast published an article this week "After allegations of sexual misconduct, Two If By Sea parts ways with co-owner."
