Man Bean, City Harvest and Cadavers

Autumn is in full swing

In Burnside just on the edge of Dartmouth Crossing, the Shell, Sobeys Extra, and Tim Hortons are now open. A&W and NSLC Express will be coming in a few months to the complex on the corner of Wright and Wilkinson.

A new franchisee will soon have the Burrito Jax in Cole Harbour back open.

Man Bean (Vietnamese) has opened on Barrington Street in the longtime former home of Ginger Grass. (sorry no update on them)

On Brunswick near the corner of Cogswell, Inkwell Boutique is getting a couple of neighbours a quick serve Egyptian restaurant is going to their left, and a local cafe will be going on their right. At the other end of the block, Orso Pub and Grill is now open on the corner of Duke.

New Scotland Clothing, is going to have a seasonal pop-up store at Halifax Shopping Centre, maybe will lead to more permanent for the Dartmouth based clothier.

Medicine Shoppe has opened between Subway and Mezza in Tantallon.

Christmas Discounters now open in Dartmouth Crossing. (by Structube)

Nayya Pizza is on the move from Bedford Highway to Larry Uteck where Tazza was. If you don’t know, Nayya is the only place in town I know that makes a Pictou County pizza. Koroni Pizzeria will be replacing Nayaa and will also have a focus on Greek dishes.

Attention doggos, puppers, woofers and floofs, Jolly Tails is expanding next year adding a Burnside location in January (Joe Zatzman at Wright) and Bedford in April across from the old Arby’s.

Sears has been court permission to liquate the merchandise in the 130 remaining stores coast to coast; sales could begin as early as this week.

Juice Press at Purdy’s has closed (other locations continue)

Long awaited Montreal Style Portuguese Chicken joint CHKN CHOP opens this week on North St at King where Robins Donuts was for a couple of decades.

Congratulations to Kartbahn who turns twenty on Tuesday.

Mic Mac Mall continues to shuffle stores, Charm Diamond who was on the 3rd floor since the 3rd floor was added in the early 80’s is now moving to the 2nd floor where BCBG most recently was. I have heard there are big plans for a retailer on the 3rd floor and this kind of confirms that. Charm and its sister Cresent Jewellers are also in the process of building new stores in Halifax Shopping Centre.

City Harvest is this Saturday the Autumn cousin to May’s Open City, there are 46 places listed already at https://www.ilovelocalhfx.ca/ and that list will grow all week.

Also Saturday the Clean Foundation is having a Fix-It Fair at the Forum
