Le Creuset, Stores on the Move, IKEA and PJ’s?

A few weeks ago I said that IKEA would open on Sept 22, well I was close it will open to the public on Sept 27. In the meantime, IKEA has mailed the 2018  catalogue to most metro homes and if you didn’t get it yet, you probably will this week.

A fish monger and seafood restaurant, called Hook’em and Cook’em is planning to open in the former Zibi Auto on North Park, beside the Armouries.

Zara in Halifax Shopping Centre is now open.

Bird’s Nest Cafe opens a second location inside the Discovery Centre on Monday. Bird’s Nest Cafe who is also currently expanding its original location on Barrington St and transitioning from it’s current name of Ciboulette Cafe.

It appears national chain Kurves Brow Bar who offer threading & henna art is coming to Mic Mac and Halifax Shopping Centre

And speaking of Halifax Shopping Centre, November will bring the open of a Le Creuset Store (which I first mentioned in 2015)

Le Creuset

Next month Mahone Bay Trading Company is opening Rieker footwear branded store in the new Monaghan Square on Young St across from the Superstore.

I took a trip out to Sackville and I see that Golfzon now has a Korean takeout in it called KCookPomodoro Pizza has found a new home and will reopen next month right beside GolfZon, while Pomodoro’s  neighbour Beaverbank Physiotherapy is moving to the new build at Downsview.Speaking of Downsview I mentioned earlier that St. Louis Bar And Grill was going in, and there is still supposed to be a hotel going in nearby as well. Rockbottom Deals is open by Enterprise above Pizzadelic, they are carrying electronics, toys and other small items. I still don’t know of any tenants lined up for the build at the corner of Sackville and Sackville Cross. I’m excited for the Cobequid Cultural Society Arts Centre being built in Upper Sackville.  And yes as always I enjoyed my Kaiser’s large cold cut, works, microwaved, cut.

For the first time in over four years, I have been doing this update I don’t have a closure to announce ( I have one but I need to confirm something next week to be sure because there is a bit of vagueness)

Princess Auto in Burnside looks like it’s on the move in 2018, I hear it will relocate to the corner of Burnside Drive and Wright Avenue.

Also on the move in 2018 is Kent Mic Mac, they will be relocating to Dartmouth Crossing. I hear Irving is planning to keep the building at Mic Mac and make it an Office/Warehouse.

Some of you may have noticed the Penningtons at the Halifax Shopping Centre Annex is renovating, well it is getting split into 2 spaces. One side will be a smaller Penningtons and the other will be a self-contained Addition Elle (moving the Bayers Lake store)

PC Financial is being absorbed by CIBC and being rebranded as Simplii, and that means you will no longer earn PC Points for banking as of Nov 1.
The PC MasterCard continues as is though and still earns points. It also means Superstores etc. will be removing the banking pavilions and will be removing CIBC and PC bank machines.

Well sometimes I completely miss things and being four years late I’m not putting it under Opens. I noticed this week that Ariel’s Catering & Cafe is open on Main St. near Lakeland Plant World and I’m told it’s a great breakfast/lunch spot.

Happy Valley Corn season!

and I am so out of touch but I am told this at H&M is not intended to be pyjamas and is actually intended to be work on the street.
H&M

and as a heads-up, I will be having an ad right here in the coming weeks as I have found someone who wants to sponsor the weekly update.
