Talay Thai is on the move from their Barrington St home, to 1300 Hollis

The Pizza Hut is on Young is closing, to make way for the new development on that piece of land, still no word on where Michaels is going. The Pizza Hut though will be integrating with the KFC on Quinpool pushing Taco Bell out that means no more late night Taco Bell as the only 2 locations left will be in the Halifax Shopping Centre and Mic Mac food courts.

From 2-8 on Tuesday, April 15 Humani-T on South Park or Agricola, will have free gelato though a donation is appreciated and all donations this year will be going to Feed NS

2 new Subway‘s on the way, one going in Scotia Square where Ray’s Falafel was , and one at the airport before security, beside where the bookstore is.

Speaking of the airport in a long term HIAA development plan, they are planning to build a big box centre beside the airport.

The Jiffy Lube on Robie @ North is being replaced by a Needs, rumour is that the Sobeys controlled Shell Station will be coming down and the station will be re-branded  as Fast Fuel.

I was at Field Guide this week and as usual and outstanding drinks and this tasty dinner.
Pig Skin Spaghetti, Dan continues to do amazing work with offal, the so called “undesirable” cuts of animals.

Extreme Pita on Quinpool is done, store closed and For Lease signs in the window.

Recommendation is going to council on Tuesday to approve Herring Cove’s Pavia Gallery as the operator of the new Halifax Central Library’s ground floor and top floor cafe’s . Uncommon Grounds and Second Cup were the other bidders.

And lets end with this

  1. FYI, Crombie’s website has the new floorplan for Scotia Square including upcoming food court changes. Key points are:

    – Subway is taking over both Ray’s and Taste of India’s former spaces
    – Thai Express is taking over Battered Fish’s old location
    – Former Coco’s Pizza location remains vacant
    – The former Quiznos space has no unit number assigned and appears to be used for storage

    – United Express remains on the floor plan, however they are having a closing sale on non-magazine items and are vacating at the end of April
